BORNEO RAINFOREST CELEBRATION
On Thursday night March 14, a wonderful celebration honouring the forests of Borneo unfolded at Akasha, NewEarth Haven, in Ubud, Bali. Pak Philius, a Dayak Kenyah elder of Long Saan film flew in FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY from North Kalimantan, BORNEO.
The film is a tribute to Pak Philius’s life, living deep in the Borneo jungle. A beautifully shot film by #ERICKEST director. David Metcalf presented LONG SAAN, the film.
Pak Philius and 2 other Dayak musicians sung, played the sape and danced under the stars at Akasha, Keliki Village, 10 kms, Ubud. This was a lead up cultural film night in the lead up to Bali International Indigenous Film Festival - May 10-12, 2019 where 34 films will be screened over 3 days with 12 directors in attendance for Q & A and group discussion.
